Frequently asked questions

How do I create a story?

Open Mimpi and tap Create Story from the home tab. Select your child's profile (or create one), pick their mood and tonight's lesson, choose a story length, and optionally describe something that happened in their day. Tap Generate — your story will be ready in seconds.

Can I add more than one child?

Yes. Tap the Profile tab and then the + button to add a new child profile. Premium subscribers can create up to 5 profiles. Free users can create one profile.

How do I start or cancel my free trial?

Tap Go Premium anywhere in the app to start your 3-day free trial. No charge is made during the trial. To cancel, open the Settings app on your iPhone → tap your name → Subscriptions → find Mimpi and tap Cancel Subscription. You must cancel at least 24 hours before the trial ends to avoid being charged.

Why did the story generation fail?

This is usually caused by a temporary network issue or high demand on our AI servers. Please check your internet connection and try again. If the problem persists, contact us at hello@mimpi.app with a description of what happened.

The narration voice sounds odd with my child's name — can I fix it?

Yes. When editing your child's profile, enter the Phonetic spelling of their name (for example, if their name is "Siobhan", enter "Shivawn"). Mimpi uses this phonetic version when narrating so the voice pronounces it correctly.

Are my stories saved if I delete and reinstall the app?

Stories are stored in the app's local database. If you delete the app, locally stored stories will be lost. We recommend using the Favourites feature to mark the stories your child loves most — these may be recoverable in a future update. For now, please export important stories using the copy or share button in the Story Player.

Is Mimpi safe for young children?

Yes. Every story is generated with a system prompt that enforces gentle, age-appropriate, and calming language. There is no violence, fear, or inappropriate content. Stories are designed specifically to help children settle for sleep. We recommend parents read stories once before sharing them, as AI can occasionally produce unexpected output.

I was charged but I didn't mean to subscribe. How do I get a refund?

Refunds for App Store purchases are handled by Apple. To request a refund:

1. Visit reportaproblem.apple.com.
2. Sign in with your Apple ID.
3. Find the Mimpi charge and tap Report a Problem.
4. Select "I didn't mean to subscribe" and submit.

Apple typically processes refund decisions within a few days. You can also contact us at hello@mimpi.app and we'll do our best to help.

How do I restore my Premium subscription on a new device?

Open Mimpi, go to Settings → Subscription, and tap Restore Purchases. Make sure you're signed in with the same Apple ID used to purchase the subscription.

🗑️ How to delete your account

You can delete your Mimpi account and all associated data at any time. Deletion permanently removes your account, child profiles, and all generated stories within 30 days.

To delete your account: Open the Mimpi app → tap Settings (bottom tab) → scroll to the bottom → tap Delete Account → confirm.

If you are unable to access the app, you can also request account deletion by emailing us at hello@mimpi.app with the subject line "Account Deletion Request" and the email address associated with your account.
